Thessaloniki in the years of Alexander the Great- Greek team


The city was built in 315 BC by King Kassandros of Macedonia who named the city after his wife Thessaloniki, who was sister of Alexander the Great. The new town of Kassandros was built on the site of ancient Thermi attracting many residents of surrounding areas.
